Tasktoy "Move To" Feature
This is the first new feature in Tasktoy in a while, but it’s one that I think will be very useful. You can now move tasks directly to another context by selecting them and choosing the context from the dropdown menu.
The reason for this will be clearer if you’ve read Getting Things Done — it suggests having a “Waiting” context, where you keep tasks that you can’t complete until someone else gets back to you. It is often necessary to move tasks in and out of the Waiting context as it becomes clear that you can’t complete a task without another persons help.
The other thing you can now do is send a set of tasks from one place to another very easily (maybe for taking some work home with you).

I suggested this modification to you to for all the reasons you mention - and it works great! I’ve already cleared a number of tasks out of my current “office” context by moving them to “waiting.” Thanks so much for adding this functionality, and in record time, no less!

Would it be possible to add a choice in the “Customize” section that allows the user to choose a default “View”, such that if they prefer to view “All” tasks after they log in, they could do so, instead of defaulting to “Current”.
Unless, of course, this would violate the guidelines of “Getting Things Done”

Hi,
I only just read the book and I am still gearing up an actual system to work with, but I think you have misunderstood (or chose to interpret in a particular way that I see differently
the ‘waiting’ concept.
AFAIK is is a (sub)bucket, not a context. (what you call locations are called contexts in the GTD book) The consequence of mixing the two are that TaskToy does not allow for, say, a task that await external input in a working context in parallel with a task that awaits input in a personal/home context.
A fundamental point of GTD is that you should only need to (re)evaluate task, loops or whatever when they need to be re-evaluated.
In the current TaskToy implementation, I need to scan through all the waiting tasks from all my contexts (most of which will be irrelevant for a given context) to get an overview of what is waiting for external input in the context I am in right now.
Off course, TT is there to serve your needs rather than mine, but I am interested in your views wrt to GTD adherence.

Just curious - why do so many of the responders seem to believe GTD is a bible, to be ‘adhered’ to, rather than what it actually is: a guide to being more productive? I find the totalitarian approach to GTD rather odd, and supriizing. As for this article, thank you for a most informative read!
